Hey Reader! During warmer months, your skin produces more sebum, and that’s totally normal. But combining heavy moisturizers with sweat and humidity? That’s a recipe for congestion and breakouts. Science says: Occlusive-heavy creams (like petrolatum and thick butters) can trap sweat and oil on your skin. This increases the likelihood of clogged pores and summer acne, especially in combination or oily skin types. What to do: ✔️ Consider skipping the moisturizer and using a more hydrating sunscreen that can do double duty ✔️ Look for ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol—they hydrate without suffocating your skin. Your skin still needs moisture—it just doesn’t need the winter coat.
