Building Your Brightening Routine Part 1: A Brightening Serum

2 Mins read

Hey Reader!

We are three weeks into the new year and three weeks into our Brightening Series.

As someone with acne-prone skin, who constantly struggles with fading my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation I understand that skincare is just as much about self-care as it is about wanting results. And deciphering through all of the marketing hype around products and finding the products and ingredients that actually work is exactly why I started Relatable Science.

I decided to kick off the year with a curated series on Brightening because winter is the perfect time to focus on brightening your skin.

So far we have covered the biological processes behind hyperpigmentation and how to create an effective brightening routine. In this installment of the Relatable Skincare Report, we are talking all about Brightening Serums and How to Pick the Right One For You.

Discover the Magic of Brightening Serums ✨

If hyperpigmentation is your biggest challenge you aren’t alone or doing something wrong. It takes about 4-6 weeks for your skin to completely turnover. So if you get some hyperpigmentation from the sun, acne, aging, or another place naturally it is going to take a month in a half before your body sheds it naturally. And that’s a REALLY long time. So brightening serums can be a great way to help speed along the process.

Selecting the Perfect Brightening Serum, What You Need to Know

Struggling with dullness and dark spots? Your radiant future awaits with science-backed brightening serums! This guide unlocks the secrets: understand hyperpigmentation and how serums combat it. Sunscreen and antioxidants shield skin, while ingredients like hydroquinone and niacinamide prevent dark spots before they start. Glycolic acid and retinol exfoliate and boost cell turnover to fade existing marks. Learn to decode product labels and find the perfect serum for your oily, dry, or sensitive skin.
